Model Set Function
Screen Layout

- Model Viewing Window - This is where you'll see the current Model as well as any Motion you've selected. You can rotate, strafe, and Zoom the Model.
- File Menu - Various settings to make your stay more pleasant.
- File Information - ID Number corresponds to POLUtils numbers for File listings within the game. The other number is the actual .DAT File Name and Path, i.e. ROM\4\110.dat.
- Model Type Buttons - Select whichever Model Type you plan to work with. NPC Mode for "Non-Player Characters" and PC Mode for "Player Characters".
- Model Selection Box - Select your specific Model here. In PC Mode this breaks down into Races for you.
- Model Set Function - Only active for PC Mode. You can save a specific Armor set that you want to reference later. Or load one that you've currently saved.
- Individual Equipment Boxes - Only active for PC Mode. Face corresponds to the type of Head your PC has, while the rest of the boxes correspond to those areas equipment slots.
- Motion Type Box - Choose your type of motion you want to display such as Emote Motions or Battle Motions.
- Individual Motion Box - Choose the individual motion such as Attacking, Running, or Sitting.
- Motion Configuration - Change the speed of the currently displayed motion or stop it and cycle frame by frame manually. Useful for finding problem areas with your new Model.
- Set to MQO - Exports the Model as one .MQO file and individual .BMP files for PC equipment. Useful only for Rendering Models outside of Model Viewer, NOT for .DAT Modding.
- DAT to MQO - This will allow you to export your Model into workable files. For NPC Mode, it breaks the entire .DAT down into 4 files. For PC Mode you will need to select the Individual Equipment and export one at a time to keep .DAT integrity upon Import.
- Information Box - View either keyboard commands here or Motion Data from the current Model. Your choice.
File Menu
- File

- Convert MQO to DAT - Imports your Model into FFXI, overwriting the old Model.
- Restore DAT from Backup - Restores .DAT from automatic backup. Be careful only using this to backup your .DAT's.
- Original DAT Path - I'm not sure what the "Original List" is for but I recommend just setting the File Path to your Final Fantasy XI\ROM3 path.
- Final Fantasy XI Folder - Just the filepath to your Main FFXI Folder.
- Exit - Makes Angels cry.
- Settings

- fps - Set your motion viewing Frame per Second.
- Show Lighting - Toggles Lighting Effects on the current Model.
- View Wireframe - Toggles Textures on or off.
- Show Axis Lines - Shows an X, Y, and Z axis line for your referencing purposes.
- Dim Textures - Makes the Textures dimmer.
- Show DAT Number - Toggles .DAT filepaths in the Individual Equipment Boxes.
- Show Animation DAT Numbers - Toggles motion .DAT filepaths in the Information Box.
- Screenshot Formats - Set your format for taking Screenshots with Model Viewer.
- Show ROM Path - Not exactly sure what this does.
- Use DirectInput - Or this.
- Window Size - Change the Window Size of Model Viewer.
- Background Color - Change the background color depending on the Model you're viewing.
- Mouse/Keyboard Settings - Change your Mouse or Keyboard settings.
- Light Settings - Change the settings of the Enviroment Lighting.
- MQO Model Size

- This changes the size of the Model in correlation to the Race. I've never seen this have an effect on Modding, though.
- Version Info
- Brings up the Version Information, so you can make sure you're working with the current version of Model Viewer.
Model Set Function
This is handy when you're working on multiple armor projects at the same time. You can configure a set of armor on a PC and then save the project for later.
- Open Model Viewer, get your PC, and give him the desired armor and weapons.
- Take a badass screenshot and then hit the Save Button in the Set block.

- You'll get a File Save confirmation and naming box.

- Input your desired name and hit OK.
- Done.
- If you're done working with the set, just select it and hit the Del Button in the Set Area. And, please don't ask what Edit does.
