POLUtils v0.8.3 - All About Most of POLUtils...
Comlpliments of Pebbles, POLUtils let's you view just about every single bit of .DAT information and even export some of it. It doesn't support any exporting dealing with Models or Textures, but if you're modding something else, this will help immensely.
So maybe you're wondering why I throw this in here if it doesn't export .DAT info for Models. Because it shows information on ALL .DAT's in FFXI. This will help you find Window and Icon Textures, as well as Enviroment and Spell Textures. If it can be changed, you can find it with this App... and then export with another one, like ChangeTex. POLUtils is the definitive resource for .DAT information.
Screen Layout

- PlayOnline Client Region - Set your POL Version here. If you don't know what that means, but can read this, then just leave it as North America.
- Tool Language - Set the Language of POLUtils. English is preferred.
- Audio Manager - Not only let's you listen to all of the music and sound effects of FFXI, but also let's you export into .WAV format.
- FFXI Data Browser - The Tomb of Knowledge. Find all, see all. Processor intensive. Worth the trip every time.
- FFXI Macro Manager - Let's you view and change Macro's for all of your characters.
- "Engrish Onry" - Arrows prayers with JP Crient instarred to transrate their game text to Engrish.
- FFXI Configuration Editor - Same configuration settings for pregame and ingame, only without presets.
- FFXI Item Data Comparison - Might wanna travel here to learn more about this tool. I haven't figured it out yet, nor am I really working on doing so.
- FFXI Strange Apparatus Codes - KeyGen for Strange Apparatus Codes based on your individual name.
- Tetra Master Data Viewer - Allows you to view Tetra Master .DAT information.
Audio Manager

- Music Tab - Find Music Files from FFXI under this tab.
- Sound Effects Tab - Find Sound Effect files from FFXI under this tab.
- File List - This is where the files will be listed.
- File Information - View information about the Audio file you've selected.
- Play Button - Plays the selected file.
- Pause Button - Pauses playing of the selected file.
- Stop Button - Blows up your computer. Pebble's may deny it, but I know it was put there for some reason.
- Decode... Button - Allows you to convert the ingame Audio files to .WAV format. Now you can burn a CD Loop of LJ's Soundtrack for the road!!!
FFXI Data Browser

- This is the main window for the Data Browser.
- Let's find out what the NPC's in Heaven's Tower have to say.

- From here you can cycle through the extensive list and read all your favorite one-sided conversations... or maybe learn some new ones.

- Now let's take a look at some of those Menu's...

- It will give you a preview window along with a little information.

- But if you want more detailed info, just click the General Contents tab at the top and you get this :

- *hint* Don't forget the horizontal scroll bar.
- On to Item Data... WTF is Puppet Items?!?!

- It brings up a window telling you all about any item in the game. Highly detailed... maybe too detailed. Same thing with tabs at the top.

- String tables. Fountain of everything knowledge. Lots of reading. Mmmmmm...Spell info...

- Convenient for me that White Magic comes first. Thank you Peb's.

- ...and then there was the File Table. You got time to kill? Wanna see every file associated with FFXI? Well, this be yer choice, yar.

FFXI Macro Manager

- Character Name - It's going to start out being named some jargon the game uses. You figure out which character is which and then rename.
- Macro Palette Designator - Your Macro Pallettes 1 through 0.
- Macro Ctrl/Alt Designator - Individual Ctrl/Alt Macros for selected Palette.
- Macro Number List - Your Macros for the selected function 1 through 0.
- Macro Input - your actual Macro as it's written in-game. See that wierd number code? That's an Auto-Translate entry. Enjoy finding those should you choose to use them.
"Engrish Onry"

- You know if you need this. If you don't need it, don't worry about it. If you do need it, just hit the Translate Button for everything and enjoy.
FFXI Configuration Editor

- GUI Resolution is your Screen Resolution.
- 3D Resolution is for your background graphics in-game.
- Sound Effects let's you limit or increase the amount of Sound Effects heard at the same time.
- Per-Character Settings allow you to change in-game Chat colors and such. A little easier than the in-game Config.
FFXI Strange Apparatus Codes

- Simple as typing in your name and hitting Generate Codes. Haven't run into the Strange Apparatus yet? Don't worry about this then.
Tetra Master Data Viewer
- Besides having some decent Textures to rip, you shouldn't ever need this. Seriously, if you have time to even play Tetra Master, much less Mod it, you should either play your game more, Mod your game more, or get some sunshine. Seriously.
