VRS v1.0 - EXPORTING .DAT INFORMATION
This is going to be slightly more complicated. For one thing, if you haven't set the Skeletal Weight of just one Vertex, it won't export your Model. If you've added a Primitive and haven't gone through the Mesh Conversion process yet, it won't Export your Model. If you've cussed too much and pissed off the Application, it won't Export... or sometimes it seems so at least.
However, once you know and understand the process of Exporting properly, you should be able to troubleshoot more extreme problems. With this guide, I'm not going to do anything fancy. I'm going to Export the Model I Imported without changes just to show you what to look for and select. Besides, I'm not gonna screw anything up and make me look bad. Just kidding. Maybe.
- After you're finished working on your Model you need to Export it back into .DAT format.

- See that? Seen that? That means you either don't have the Model selected, you have a combination of Objects selected, or VRS hates you. Let's easily remedy 2 of the 3.
- If it's not already open, pull up a Structural Drawing Window.

- What you're looking for is the Black Box, unless you changed your default colors. If you did, then look for the Object with the name ending in something resembling <NONE-HIDE0-IVNO>.
- Using the Single Select Tool from the Operation Tool Box :

- Then select only the Model Structure, like so :

- Be sure you don't de-select the Model Structure before the next step.
- Next step is to click the FFXI Exporter button in the Tool Tool Box.

- You'll get another pop-up box.

- The File name should already be set. You can change it if you want to overwrite a different file.
- Leave the "Original file file name it retains with the (??org.dat)." box checked if you want it to automatically save a nackup of the .DAT.
- Leave the "The header of the original file is used." box Unchecked regardless. I don't know what it does, but the author warned against using it a long time ago. I listen.
- You can check whichever Convert option you want. I find using the Brightness option fixes the Gamma a little and makes the Textures look nicer.
- Hit the OK button.
- Hopefully you don't get this Error Box :

- If you did, it means that you missed a Skeletal Weight, a Texture, or a Material placement somewhere on your Model. Have fun figuring out what you missed. It can be very tedious if not almost impossible at times.
- If you didn't get that Error Box, watch the status Bar for the Exporter text to go away. This means you had a successful Export.
- To double check, just go to the .DAT folder.

- The "ZOMG!" file is the overwritten file, the "ZOMG!!" is the backup file I created cuz I'm a smart Modder, and the "ZOMG!!!" file is the autobackup created by VRS.
- Congratulations on a succesful Export!
